Italy opens up to skill games - BWIN in first
Italy is developing quickly as the new frontier in Internet gaming. When a country regulates there is a mad rush to be first in and land grab to build liquidity as quickly as possible.
This is happening now in Italy which has proved very hard to negotiate as William Hill found to its cost late last year when it pulled out. The Italian incumbents have the majority of the market share with Leisure and Gaming (LNG) and a few others fighting over the crumbs.
After BWIN entered the Poker market it is now entering the skill game market following a recent press release.
LNG take take heed and get their own games out asap or buy them in for their current betshop offerings.

After successfully launching Online Poker in the Italian market, bwin is the first operator authorised by AAMS (the State Monopolies Autonomous Administration) to have launched its real-money skill games.
As of January 5th, 2009, eight exciting skill games are available on www.bwin.it: Solitaire, Blackjack, 3 Card Poker, Yatzy, Eldorado, Formula 0.01, Backgammon, and 8-Ball Billard.
